Descripción y detalle de las actividades
- Maintain and update daily shipment tracking records, including container number, seal number, ETA, customs status, plant ETA, and relevant updates.
- Coordinate with carriers, transportation companies, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
- Monitor delivery times, cargo damage, transportation quotes, and supplier performance.
- Immediately report and resolve delays, detention/storage charges, border inspections, cargo damage, and transportation issues.
- Coordinate information between Warehouse, Purchasing, Planning, customers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.
- Monitor cross-border trade requirements, including IMMEX and CTPAT, to prevent penalties caused by documentation or compliance errors.
- Arrange cross-border transportation and confirm chassis and cargo pick-up in Long Beach.
- Plan transportation routes to the Mexico plant.
- Prepare import documentation and coordinate customs clearance with customs brokers.
- Validate IMMEX and USMCA requirements and documentation.
- Monitor shipments in transit and respond to storage charges, delays, inspections, and border congestion.
- Coordinate shipment arrival with the plant.
- Verify cargo upon arrival and collect Proof of Delivery (POD).
- Process port and border-related payments.
- Audit freight, port, and border costs.
- Maintain records of Bills of Lading (BL), customs documentation, and PODs.
- Prepare USMCA Certificate, commercial invoice, and packing list.
- Obtain shipping plans and cargo lists from the plant.
- Confirm cargo availability and loading location.
- Schedule truck pick-up and confirm equipment type and loading time.
Experiencia y requisitos
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Customs, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred
- English B1 level
- Knowledge of IMMEX and USMCA procedures
- Experience in cross-border logistics operations
- Knowledge of import and export processes between Mexico and the U.S.
- Experience coordinating multimodal transportation
- Knowledge of customs and shipping documentation
- Experience working with customs brokers, carriers, and freight forwarders
- Knowledge of TMS / ERP systems
- Experience with freight, port, and logistics cost reconciliation
- Knowledge of shipment tracking and delivery coordination
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving, communication, coordination, and negotiation skills
